TOP FAMILY ATTRACTIONS IN MANDURAH THIS SPRING

2019-09-23

With the spring school holidays just around the corner, keep kids happy and entertained can be a difficult task... but not in Mandurah!

Mandurah and the Peel Region are packed full of great child-friendly attractions and experiences for children of all ages. And there's plenty of fun for parents, too.

The Sebel Mandurah team and new General Manager Rebecca Davis have done the hard work for you, curating a great list of family fun coming to Mandurah this spring.

SPRING SCHOOL HOLIDAY INSPIRATION

1. Take a walk on the wild side

Is your child a budding photographer? Spending quality time on either a self-guided or guided wildflower walk is a great way to give creative young minds the inspiration they need. Click here for a list of wildflower hot spots in Mandurah or alternatively check out the new Ways to Nature guided walks.

2. Pirates ahoy!

The weather is finally warming up so it's time to set sail with Mandurah's very own pirate ship! The Pirate Ship has a chest of dress-up pirate accessories, a steering wheel and telescopes for kids, but is well suited for families of all ages. The open air vessel offers 360' views of Mandurah's luxury canal homes and beautiful wildlife including bottlenose dolphins.

3. Wildlife and science

There's always great activities for kids at Mandurah Community Museum during the school holiday breaks, and this spring is no different. In September it is Save the Koala Month. Children will learn how the Australia Koala Foundation helps koalas. They'll also get the chance to make their own koala mask and meet Yarra the Koala from West Oz Wildlife! In October, science is fun and interactive with Scientist Richard Rennie. Discover what light and sight is, see some amazing demonstrations and enjoy hands-on activities.

4. Fish and chip feast

No family holiday in Mandurah is complete without a fish and chip feast with stunning coastal surrounds as your backdrop. The Sebel team's favourite Mandurah fish and chips is Sharky's. Dine in or grab your order to go and head to Dolphin Quay beach (500m from Sharky's) or Town beach (1km from Sharky's). The kids will have a great time burning off some energy while parents relax and soak up the view.

5. CATS the musical

Don't miss this classic musical, reimagined into an extravaganza of modern musical theatre, with awe-inspiring choreography and FUN for all ages! Coming to Mandurah Performing Arts Centre from 10 to 13 October, join Grizabella, Gus the Theatre Cat, the Rum Tum Tugger and more in a reimagined, larger than life, contemporary take on the much-loved classic. Starring an all-star cast of West Australian talent. Family passes available.
