TOP FAMILY ATTRACTIONS IN MANDURAH IN AUTUMN

2019-02-20

With summer winding down, that doesn’t have to mean an end to the family fun. We’ve put together our recommendation of top family attractions in Mandurah that capture the summer spirit into autumn.

1. Peel Zoo

An hour’s drive out of Mandurah in nearby Pinjarra, Peel Zoo is a family favourite whatever the weather and whatever the season. Priding itself as a boutique hands-on zoo with a focus on conservation and animal adoption, Peel Zoo is as educational as it is fun. For the biggest nature loving child, the Junior Zookeeper program invites kids to live the life of a keeper for the day. Other interactive animal experiences include koala feeding, dingo encounters and up-close-and-personal parrot interaction.

Top Tip – If you’re planning on a return trip during the year, or want to support the zoo’s conservation efforts, become a zoo member with an annual zoo pass.

2. King Carnival

With the estuary as its backdrop, King Carnival is pretty as a picture. Classic carnival rides include options for all ages and all heights, whether you’re favourite is dodgem bumper cars, flying horses or the Ferris wheel. There’s also an amusement arcade, a giant trampoline jumping area and 18 holes at one of Australia’s best mini golf courses. King Carnival is open on weekends, school holidays and public holidays from 10am to 5pm, while the mini golf can be enjoyed every day from 10am to 5pm and until 10pm on Saturdays.

Top Tip – Check the weather forecast before planning a day out at King Carnival, because some rides may not be running depending on the weather.

3. Just 4 Fun Aqua Park

Open from 10:30 to 5pm every day in January as well as every weekend in February and March, this is one of Mandurah’s best water-based attractions and as fun for kids as it is adults. There’s a knee-deep zone for younger children and a main park filled with floating slides, bouncy platforms, paddleboards, paddleboats and more.

Top Tip – They specialise in group activities, so why not invite other families along and make a bigger splash.

4. Amaze Miniature Park

The perfect activity for when you’re planning something a little slower and quieter than running the water obstacle course at Just 4 Fun Aqua Park. Amaze Miniature Park includes a challenging mini golf course, miniature railways and villages, a hedge maze, circular maze and secret garden. With it’s old-England theme and nostalgic replicas, the miniature villages are fascinating for young and old.

Top Tip – Make time for a visit to Decadent C’s Chocolate Factory and Café across the road.

5. Lido Beach

Next to the Mandurah Marina, Lido Beach is a sandy man-made waterfront spot that’s ideal for a family day out in summer and autumn. The reserve that neighbours the beach adds to the appeal with facilities for park play time, picnics and BBQ’s.

Top Tip – Aside from the Keith Holmes Reserve, nearby Town Beach gives you even more choice for sun bathing and ocean fun.
